Iranian-Indian short film ‘The Other’ has grabbed an award at the International Film and Music Festival Kustendorf in Serbia.
The 13th edition of the Serbian event has honored the film, co-directed by Ako Zand-Karimi and Saman Hosseinpour, with its Best Cinematography award. Hamed Baqaeean has been the recipient of the award.
The short film is about a traditional man who following his wife's death suspects her thinking his wife had an extra marital affair with another man. His condition becomes critical when he suspects her daughter belongs to the other man.
Mohammad Potki, Mohammad Bidaq-Beigi, Asieh Moradizar, and Shiva Soufi-Mahmoudi are among the cast members of the flick.
The directing team for ‘The Other’ has already made another award-winning flick which is ‘Slaughter’.
Established in 2008, the Küstendorf Film Festival is an annual event held early January in the village of Drvengrad (also known as Küstendorf) in the Mokra Gora region of Serbia.
In addition to feature films shown in several programs and musical performances, the festival features a competitive section for short films. The festival's main prize, Golden Egg (Zlatno jaje), is awarded to the best short film.
This edition of the Küstendorf event was held on January 13-18, 2020.
